Maxar is looking for a Sr. DevOps engineer to join our team based in Herndon, VA to support a critical and unique system. We have amazing talent in other areas of the development stack, and we need someone on the backend to help us bring our workflow to life. In this role, you will supportdeveloping the system's DevSecOps pipeline by incorporating concepts such as continuous integration/delivery/deployment (CI/CD), continuous testing (CT), continuous security monitoring (CSM), and infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts to enable compliantrapid secure development, deployment, and operationsofthis unique system. What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):
  • Maintain system DevOpspipeline and CI/CD environments.
  • Lead the DevSecOps approach and automate the system lifecycle from integration through deployment.
  • Architect, design, implement and maintain CI/CD, CT and CSM solutions to support the automation, rapid development and integration of the system following IaC best practices.
  • Participate in an agile development team to Implement solutions using agile scrum and extreme programming (XP) methodologies.
  • Work with customer infrastructure teams to ensure approach complies with overall technical direction.
  • Provide expertise on DevSecOps concepts while keeping current with industry DevSecOps technology trends.
  • Work with program security staff to ensure CSM complies with technical compliance requirements.
  • Leverage technologies such as CloudFormation, Git, Helm, Terraform, Jenkins/X, Ansible, Nexus, SonarQube, and Kubernetes to automate cloud infrastructure deploymentswhile adapting to new technologies as needed.
  • Apply AWS GovCloud best practice security measures on DevSecOps practices.
  • Maintain system documentation.

Minimum requirements for this position:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI w/ CI Poly.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with developing, maintaining and troubleshooting DevOps and CI/CD leveraging Platform as a Service (PaaS), cloud container, or Kubernetes technologies on Linux OS platforms.
  • 5+ years of development experience in a cloud-based environment.
  • 3+ years of programming and shell scripting experience (i.e. Bash, Java, Groovy, or Python).
  • 2+ years of implementing IaC solutions to provision infrastructure (e.g. such as Ansible, Chef, or Terraform).
  • Experience with incorporating CSM technologies such as SonarQube, Fortify or WebInspect into DevOps pipelines.
  • Experience with working on agile development teams.
  • Experience with source code management and build automation (i.e. Git, Jenkins/Circle CI/GitLab CI/CD, etc.)
  • Knowledge of system architectures and understanding of network protocols.

These skills would be amazing:

  • Demonstrable ability to come up to speed on new DevOps, CI/CD and CSM technology stacks.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Application Programming interfaces (API) such as REST, SOAP.
  • Understanding of NIST Risk Management Framework.
  • Knowledge of PKI Infrastructure concepts and practices.
  • Infrastructure logging and maintenance with technology.
  • Experience with security tools (Tenable Nessus, HashiCorp Vault, IBM QRadar).
  • 5+ years of Amazon Web Service (AWS) experience.
  • Familiarity with using HashiCorp Packer.
  • Experience with new and innovative technologies
