Maxar is seeking a Systems Engineer (technical, schedule and risk management) to join our team in Herndon, VA!What will you be doing?- Provide systems engineering and enterprise architecture support to USG customers.
- Work with customers to improve their architecture and engineering workflows and processes with the identification or design of processes and tools.
- Responsible for articulating and capturing the architecture, system requirements, system design, and testing approach.
- Assess and report on the status of the Government technical baseline, integration activity, test, evaluation and verification activity, and systems engineering processes and products
- Develop, maintain, and execute the Government and program technical requirements baseline plan, processes and products, to include management of system and sub-system program specification requirements, interface requirements, and Government requirements. Incorporate changes to the Government and program technical baseline requirements, with Government approval, to keep the technical baseline current.
- Recommend systems engineering and integration process improvements that increase efficiency; reduce risk, cost and schedule; improve integration, communication and collaboration across the Government; or enhance a Government portfolio perspective for decision support. Develop, track and report process metrics for key control processes.
- Identify and analyze Government risks and issues. Propose and execute handling plans for identified risks. Manage existing and new risks. Document risks and issues identified by Government, FFRDCs, development contractors and other stakeholders. Facilitate, manage and participate in program risk management process.
- US citizenship with a current/active Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain SCI access.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
- Master's degree in a technical discipline.
- 2 years of systems engineering related or equivalent experience.
