As the leading innovator in this space, our diverse and talented team of Internet, satellite and telecommunications professionals continues to break new ground and create significant opportunities for network operators, service providers and resellers. iDirectGov is seeking an innovative, creative and experienced Technical Writer. The Technical Writer will support current and future products for iDirectGov. The person must be fluent in managing all aspects of multiple projects with a primary focus on quality, scope and effective change control processes. Strong focus is on tracking and monitoring project status, while maintaining positive accountability at the onset of a project to ensure completeness of tasks and constant effective communication between all groups. Complete projects on time and on budget. This position is based out of our Herndon, VA location with the option of a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Validate our products and technology, by coordinating with technical experts in the organization. Learn and use the products and technology.
  • Produce applicable technical documentation based on project requirements that are within the corporate intellectual rights guidelines.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure that information integrated in the final product is as accurate as possible.
  • Manage the review process and signoff for all documentation.
  • Manage the product lifecycle of documents using Oracle Agile.
  • Assist in formatting, editing and maintaining training materials.
  • Support the Proposal Execution Team by formatting RFP/RFI responses. Help maintain database of boiler plate information for future responses for RFP/RFI.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Degree in English, Journalism or related field, with an additional 5 years (or 8 years equivalent work experience in the field) of Technical Documentation Development. Documentation experience should include experience writing software/hardware installation and safety manuals, user guides, training material and processes.

Technical Skills: Individual should have experience in/working knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Adobe FrameMaker
  • Adobe Acrobat PDF software
  • Oracle Agile Configuration Management software
  • Additional technical documentation applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Captivate, and SharePoint.
  • Madcap Fare
  • Confluence
