Maxar is seeking for a Sr. Cloud Systems Administrator to work with a high-tech team to administer cutting edge open source and cloud-based technologies. In this role, you will perform administrative tasks on primarily Red Hat Linux based operating systems. You will will be responsible for installation and operations of a large suite of open-source technologies that support big data analytics streaming and at scale. In order to be successful in this role, you must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the Linux/Unix operating system, DevOps concepts, security distributed systems, and on cloud technologies.Responsibilities:- Deploy highly available, scalable and secure cloud infrastructure with a focus on AWS.
- Strong understanding and administration skills of the AWS platform.
- Work closely with the Development team to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployment and configuration of infrastructure.
- Responsible for system maintenance, patching, updates, and data backups.
- Install, maintain, and patch system applications.
- Troubleshoot system and application-based issues and remediate.
- Coordinate with vendors for technical support, upgrades.
- Analyze and resolve configuration issues in development, test, and production environments.
- Maintain Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) between the customer network, cloud and other environments.
- Participate in security compliance efforts.
- Research, design and recommend application configurations based on security best practices and other program requirements.
- Lead the design and implementation of AWS and cluster networking approach.
- Perform continuous monitoring activities, identify lifecycle management, respond to system and security incidents.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
- 8 years Linux based system administration.
- 3 years in administration in cloud-based systems.
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certified.
- CompTIA Security+ certification or CompTIA Network+ certified.
- Experience with working on Agile Development teams.
- Experience in provisioning and sustaining network infrastructures.
- Experience in developing and managing secure networks for secure PKI, IPSEC, or VPN enabled environments.
- Current/active TS/SCI with CI poly.
- Certified in Red Hat Certified Engineer ( RHCE ) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
- Certified Kubernetes ACKA.
- At least 1 focused AWS Certification such as Security.
- Working knowledge of DevOps methodologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches.
- Working knowledge of AWS CloudFormation.
- Working knowledge of platform as a service (PaaS), virtualized cluster management, and containerization concepts and technologies.
- Advanced analytical skills: Able to leverage prior experience and knowledge to efficiently and effectively learn new technologies and derive secure technical solutions in a timely manner.
- Must have good written/ verbal communication skills and have experience in working in a collaborative environment.
- Experience or familiarity with the following technologies:
- Nessus, Prisma, QRadar
- Kubernetes
