Support the Mission: We are responsible for the deployment and support of 24x7 runtime systems that help our Commercial and Government partners realize value in our unique solutions to problems that are global in scale. We provide Space Infrastructure and Earth intelligence services for customers ranging from startups to humanitarian organizations to Government intelligence markets.

Your Career: Maxar has an established customer base with existing infrastructure solutions and will to continue to adapt to changing customer needs by exploring M&A activities and new technology development. In this role, you will focus on supporting on-premise infrastructure IT Linux and Windows systems and explore hybrid and cloud-based operating models to better serve the needs of our partners. We operate at considerable scale (this is not your father's server room) both on-premise and in AWS. We are focused on growing competencies internally to support emerging technology trends. Day to Day:
  • Work on a distributed team with infrastructure across the United States
  • Configure, deploy and administer Linux- and Windows-based environments
  • Develop and implement solutions for projects in physical, virtual, and cloud environments
  • Discuss and plan activities related to upgrades, migrations and other maintenance

Minimum requirements for this position:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in an IT systems administrator role
  • Bachelor's degree in related field. Four years of additional experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Experience with Linux operating systems, primarily RHEL and CentOS
  • Experience with Windows Server operating systems
  • Experience with virtualization, virtual switching, and VSAN technologies, particularly for VMWare
  • Ability to participate in an on call rotation

These skills would be amazing:
  • Experience with deployment/configuration management tools and related scripting technologies: Ansible, Puppet, Satellite, SCCM
  • Understanding of storage technologies, CIFS, NFS, SAN
  • Existing, transferable US Government "Secret" clearance, or higher.
  • Previous experience with Agile methodologies
  • Previous experience with medium to large-scale infrastructure installations
  • Previous experience working on a distributed team
  • Understanding of cloud methodologies and services, particularly AWS
  • Understanding of hardening systems, working in a STIG/ICD503/CIS environment,
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Experience with storage technologies at scale
  • Familiar with HPC platforms and technologies: moab/torque, xCat
