Job summaryAt Amazon Web Services (AWS), Security is our highest priority. The AWS Security team is responsible for the security of services offered by AWS. The Secure all the Things (SAT2) team is responsible for driving innovative enhancements that raise the bar for how AWS employees interact with resources, systems, and data. At AWS' scale, we must invent new security tools to enable system administrators and developers to build rapidly, while maintaining least privileged access.

The successful candidate is one who loves working with engineering and business teams across an entire AWS Security organization to understand their needs, and work with data & business intelligence engineers to design and build solutions that enable service teams to more quickly and effectively access security data. You are passionate about the data and you want to solve real business problems.

As a Senior Data Product Manager you will drive and contribute to the strategy, goals, and requirements for our data collection, transformation, and delivery tools. You will work closely with a variety of different groups including Engineering, TPMs, and cross-functional teams to ensure that teams across the organization are equipped with the tools and data resources they need to discover insights and make an impact on the products and experiences we deliver. It also requires the candidate to have solid business acumen working with product, program, and business teams to quickly understand their new product offering, gather data reporting requirements, and extrapolate its potential implications across the AWS security Eco-system. You will deliver industry leading data capabilities that descriptive and predictive analytics, and security insights to enable real time decision-making. You will need a deeply analytical and systems architecture mindset with the ability to tackle complex challenges and effectively influence stakeholders across AWS Security org. This is a high-impact and high visibility role that requires not only strategic vision and inventing for the customers, but also strong execution, technical depth, analytical rigor, and excellent communication.

Key job responsibilities• Managing data product and features and influences the strategic business direction and org priorities.• Drives product discussions (e.g. vision, goals, tenets, roadmap, narratives, MBR/QBR, status) with executive representatives. Contributes to operational planning process. Creates product materials, other training.• Establishes/simplifies processes to ensure product meets customer needs. (e.g., roadmap prioritization, product lifecycle) and audit mechanisms (e.g., metrics, reporting, evaluation standards). • Reviewing new business initiatives and scoping any effect on existing reporting processes and systems.• Providing end-to-end financial/operational/business metric requirements for projects and business initiatives.• Actively participating in projects throughout their life cycle - from design through delivery.• Review reporting requirements from stakeholders, provide metric assessment, and monitor implementation during the launch period.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree, or appropriate work experience on well-loved data/analytics products
  • 3+ years post-MBA, or 6+ years work experience performing relevant product management and/or financial transactional accounting related job functions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or a Master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related fields
  • Concrete experience leading complex digital products applications through multiple lifecycl
  • Experience in the Big Data Security Domain
  • Strong analytic and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions (SQL preferred)
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • Able to make the case for a technology product and can influence teams to dedicate resources
  • Strong, data-driven business and technical judgment
  • Ability to distill informal business requirements into problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives.
  • Strong communicator with experience in facilitation across all levels; skilled at addressing both large and small audiences across multiple leadership levels and functions.
  • Excellent writing skills; able to produce and finalize complex documents
