Do you enjoy helping people? Do you want to have fun at work? Can you bring compassion to your job every day? VP&J services is currently hiring for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). We have openings in the Lynchburg and Appomattox areas. Successful applicants will be working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities and physical limitations. DSPs will support individuals with activities of daily living as well as skill building to learn to be more independent. Must be able to support with bathing, toileting, eating, dressing, cleaning their home, and accessing the community. These individuals enjoy doing the same things you do, going shopping, out to eat, to the movies, bowling, etc. Individuals live in rural areas so applicants must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
DSPs are responsible for filling out paperwork daily and writing a narrative note of the day and what occurred.
DSPs go through several days of paid trainings to include First Aid and CPR, Medication Administration, Human Rights Training, Therapeutic Options training, and others.
Positions are for 2nd shift available 7 days per week, and 1st shift weekends. We are hiring for part time but Full time positions may become available.
This position requires 2 full weeks of training prior to regular work. All training is held in Appomattox between 8am and 5pm. Training typically begins the first week of every month.
All new DSPs will start at $9.00/hr. Hours available are 7am-3pm on Saturday and Sunday, 3pm-11pm all week. Positions in Lynchburg and Appomattox. MUST HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED! MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND WORKING VEHICLE. Our individuals like to go out and enjoy their community, we reimburse mileage.
