Candidates MUST BE ABLE TO work independently and have excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational and time management skills.
This will be a fast paced learning environment resulting in an experienced Domestic Relation/Family Law Legal Assistant/Paralegal or Criminal Law Case Manager. Pay will increase drastically based on your grasp of the work. Based on your experience you could start at a higher pay rate.
If selected, candidates will be taught: Drafting documents, legal pleadings, memos, managing legal calendar, and organizing documents.
Job Duties include:
Opening new files and closing old files
Organizing and updating existing files
Preparing/organizing files for court
Drafting correspondence and some legal pleadings
Prepare GAL's written reports to court
Filing, copying, faxing, scanning
Answering phones (unbelievably in this day and age some people can't do it)
Scheduling appointments
Interrogatories/Civil Discovery Requests
Notating time for billable hours.
Our ideal candidate works well with others; experience in record keeping and document retention; highly organized; proficient in MS Office; possess an ability to multitask; poised under pressure; and able to work in a fast paced environment. "Nuturing" skills are helpful.
Job Type: Part-time to full-time
Salary: $9.00-11.00/hour
