We are seeking an entry level full-time IT Service Specialist - Tier 1 Technician for our Lynchburg, VA office.
The IT Specialist will support desktop computers and servers around the Lynchburg area.
Tier 1 Support Responsibilities
-Respond to queries by phone, email and in person.
-Ask appropriate, informed questions to ascertain nature of problems.
-Take requests from clients and determine proper flow/referral/transfer within the company.
-Walk customers through problem-solving process.
-Provide technical assistance and support for incoming inquiries and issues related to a variety of computer systems, software and hardware.
-Install computer peripherals for users.
-Install, modify and repair computer hardware and software.
-Provide exceptional customer service utilizing professional telephone/email communication skills.
-Windows 7/10 pro, Windows Server, Microsoft Office, Networked Printers and networked peripherals a definite plus!
-Demonstrate independent analytical problem solving abilities to troubleshoot a wide range of issues.
-Break-fix support of PC hardware and POS peripherals (scanners, receipt printers, monitors, etc.).
-LAN/WAN/WIFI connectivity troubleshooting.
-Open/close support tickets utilizing our ticket management system with detailed documentation.
-Multi-task across requests and priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented support environment
-Exemplary interpersonal and organizational skills
-Strong attention to detail
-Mac experience a plus
Qualifications:
-Working knowledge of MS Windows 7/8 OS and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
-Ability to rapidly learn and demonstrate competence with new technologies/software applications.
-Ability to learn and pick up a basic grasp of networking, TCP/IP and LAN functionalities a plus.
-IT certifications a plus but not required. A+, Network+, MTA or higher
