Project Scope: Our client has an immediate need for a Windows Engineer with the following skills and experience: Responsibilities:- Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining systems, application software and system management tools on-prem and in AWS.
- Provide technical support for enterprise Windows systems. Troubleshoot, repair, and recover from system failures in accordance with operating procedures.
- Develop and maintain accurate documentation via the use of flowcharts, diagrams, and other relevant tools.
- Perform routine operational tasks, verifying the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all resources, systems, and key processes.
- Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs.
- Test application and system performance to identify potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work the with application owner or vendor to implement fixes
- Install, configure, and maintain critical backup infrastructure and processes, including managing server and file restorations
- Interact with senior engineers to identify areas of improvement for operational efficiency.
- Accountable for delivering on all assigned tasks, projects, and business reporting requirements.
- Comply with Security, Incident Management and Change Management procedures and reporting practices.
- Work closely with technical and non-technical personnel within and across client departments and vendors.
- Participate in on-call 24x7 support as needed in the event of system outage or failure.
- In lieu of a degree, combination of education and a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience is required that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to perform all the essential job functions.
- Experience supporting managed file transfer systems.
- Experience with monitoring systems and tools.
- Experience creating PowerShell scripts
- Experience managing on-prem and AWS Cloud Windows infrastructure
- Experience supporting HP and Cisco UCS hardware.
- Strong background in Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM and Windows Registry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
- Effective time management, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytic skills.
- Solid networking knowledge (OSI Layers, TCP/IP, ACL)
