About the Opportunity

DMI is currently seeking to hire a

Azure Cloud Architect to support a Federal Government customer in the DC metro area. This Senior

Azure Cloud Architect will provide s upport for an enterprise web-based system.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify the appropriate governance model and cloud implementation strategies
  • Provide architecture and design services to specify solutions that meet or exceed requirements. Create architecture and design artifacts as required and review with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Engineering, Networking, Monitoring, and other teams as needed.
  • Implementing azure best practices for all the IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Services.
  • Implementing cloud design patterns as per the functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Implementing cloud naming conventions for all environments and adhering to guidelines.
  • Support migrating existing on-premise architecture and help build scalable and highly available environments and deployment pipelines across all cloud services/infrastructure.
  • Manage Azure cost structure.
  • Demonstrate ability to collaborate between business units, architecture, operations, and security on the development and implementation of solutions that meet operational and compliance standards as well as meeting relevant regulatory requirements;
  • Lead the technology direction, vision, and strategy to enable cloud technology adoption.
  • Work closely with Development Technical Leads and Project/Program Manager to optimize delivery and IT operations processes.
  • Maintain in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of Azure to ensure all appropriate options are considered to best support business requirements.

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:

  • At least eight (8) years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related discipline.

Required Skills/Certifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services
  • Experience with cloud-native tools, cloud computing, services, and configuring/using Azure IaaS and PaaS offerings.
  • Lead the technology direction, vision, and strategy to enable cloud technology adoption.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Resource Templates based on best practices and Azure policies.
  • Understanding of SaaS microservices-based design, Design for security & privacy, and Software architectures.
  • Strong grasp of IT infrastructure and application development technology and architectures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows Servers, Operations, and Applications (PowerShell, IIS). Hands-on development and scripting in PowerShell.
  • Experience Application Insights, Azure monitor metric.

Should have lived in the US for at least 3 years.

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, related field or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development and 5-year experience in Solution Architect or Technical Lead

Required Skills:

  • Experience in development using the following technologies: ASP.NET, C#, Web API, MVC, jQuery, JavaScript, SQL Server, JSON.
  • Experience working on Enterprise applications with .NET core and provisioning cloud-based solutions
  • Excellent communication skills and documentation experience, with an emphasis on explaining business/project requirements to customers and development teams.
  • Analyze & design the solutions according to project specifications and estimation of size & effort for the delivery. Should Must have in-depth knowledge of design issues and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate exceptional communications skills
  • Self-starter and highly motivated where assignments are often self-initiated
  • Understand customer needs/requirements and escalate, when necessary. Work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Strong knowledge in Microsoft Azure, on-premise, and infrastructure platforms
