We are currently seeking a Network Engineering Specialist to join our team in Mclean, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

Position Summary:

The F5 Network Engineer will have F5 Operations and Engineering experience with multiple F5 solutions in an enterprise environment. Must have experience and technical skill sets in networking & TCP/IP protocol stack, working with application development, operations, database, and security teams, and communicating effectively with various departments within the organization. The Network Engineer will be a part of a dynamic operations team supporting an Agile development environment with high-security standards.

Position Duties:

  • Install, configure, and maintain F5 hardware, software, devices, and appliances in support of customer infrastructure
  • Create virtual servers, pools/pool members, nodes, monitors, etc.
  • Local Traffic Management (LTM) and application firewall (ASM) configuration, management and view logs.
  • Perform LTM SSL offloading and ciphers configuration to secure F5 configurations
  • Troubleshoot F5 network problems, and device configurations and coordinate with various teams or with vendor to facilitate F5 resolution
  • Maintain a highly available and scalable network environment
  • Assist with technical issues, project management, design, analysis, and implementation of network solutions as needed
  • Develop and execute mitigation plans for technical & security issues

Required Skills:

  • 6+years' experience with F5 equipment (LTM & ASM)
  • 6+ years overall F5 experience working in a large enterprise environment
  • 6+ years experience in custom SSL, ciphers, and LTM traffic performance optimization
  • 6+ years experience with supporting and maintaining F5 Big-IP load balancers (to include set up, maintenance, upgrades, and replacement of the latest generation of F5s)

Desired/Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems administration
  • Experience with tape backups, e.g., NetBackup
  • Experience with scripting & automation languages, e.g., bash, Ansible, etc.
  • Demonstrate an ability to craft and understand iRules
  • Experience analyzing security impacts and risks to websites explain crafting ASM policies with examples
  • Working knowledge of Cisco storage switches, network infrastructure, TCP/IP & Fibre Channel.
  • Thorough understanding of data security controls, protocols, and methods
  • Familiarity with tcpdump, Wireshark, or other packet capture tools
  • Ability to work in a large SDLC environment
  • Excellent attention to detail, communications skills and ability to interact with the team and internal customers.
  • Significant experience with F5 Big-IP to include set up, maintenance, & upgrades

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Management or related field
  • F5 Big-IP or CISCO certifications desired.

In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rules, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position who works in Colorado is $93,000 - $130, 200. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on a number of factors, including work location, relevant experience (internal or external), technical skills, and other qualifications. The candidate may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on personal and/or company performance. This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage with an employer contribution, flexible spending or health savings account, life and AD&D, short and long term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program with company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.
