Piper Companies is actively recruiting a Senior Analyst, Capital Planning & Stress Testing at our McLean, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this job is to support the execution and development of modeling activities within the capital planning and stress testing process.

Essential Functions

• Contribute to the production and assessment of the capital plan and stress testing results in compliance with NCUA regulatory requirements.

• Develop and maintain SQL scripts and refreshable reports used for diagnosis of balance sheet position data and stress testing results.

• Generate reporting materials and presentations used by Finance team to analyze the drivers impacting projected net income, risk, and net worth capital levels from changes in underlying data positions, asset/liability balance sheet product segment composition, macroeconomic factors, yield curves, and other balance sheet assumptions and risk factors.

• Develop a familiarity with modeling requirements for existing and emerging

financial products and a general understanding of the impact of macro-economic factors on the balance sheet and income statement

• Perform BAU and ad-hoc requests within the broader QRM modeling team, which may include model upgrades and supporting validation, back-testing and new product implementation

• Participate in the preparation of accurate and timely submission of capital planning and stress testing position modeling data to the NCUA.

• Facilitate the maintenance of high-quality process and modeling documentation that satisfies internal model risk policies, audit requirements, and senior management and Board review.

Education and Experience

• Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Economics is preferred.

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in related field of business analysis.

• Fundamental understanding of financial instruments including mortgage and auto loans, credit cards, and retail deposits.

• Familiarity with QRM Balance Sheet Management system or similar risk management framework is preferred;

• Ability to operate within tight timelines while enforcing high standard of accuracy;

• Demonstrate initiative to self-educate and cross-train where appropriate.

• Strong working knowledge of SQL or similar data query competencies.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

• Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.

  • This is a FULLTIME opportunity with a target base salary of $140,000/year + full benefits package
  • This role can be performed in a remote capacity until deemed safe to return to the office space
