Our global corporate affairs and communications department is responsible for managing Hilton's corporate reputation, brand communications, and fostering positive relations with federal, state, and local governments, associations and influencers.

What will I be doing?

As the Director, Corporate Foundations, you will support the development and activation of the company’s global Corporate Foundation, the Hilton Effect Foundation, and will help deliver on Hilton’s 2030 Travel with Purpose goals. You will also have responsibility for corporate foundation grant making and disaster relief.

You will help further Hilton's award-winning Travel with Purpose (TwP) program and corporate foundation. The Hilton Effect Foundation is a critical component of the company’s strategic priority to align our culture and organization and create a better world to travel.

More specifically, you will:

  • Develop long-term grants programs and sponsor key initiatives to promote and achieve business engagement in the Hilton Effect Foundation and Travel with Purpose 2030 Goals.

  • Lead the development and support global implementation of Hilton's signature initiatives including: Global Week of Service, Hilton Effect Grants, Hilton Responds (Disaster Relief), Room 702 Awards and other initiatives.

  • Partner collaboratively with regional Corporate Responsibility (CR) teams and functional partners by developing and implementing property level resources and training and practical fundraising guides to drive increased engagement among Team Members and regions.

  • Handle the foundation budget and related IRS 501(c)3 reporting requirements.

  • Develop and provide training and resources to property-level Team Members for relevant Hilton Effect Foundation and TwP programs.

  • Partner with functions across the business to develop a fundraising roadmap and plan to ensure growth of the corporate foundation.

  • Develop, track and report on measurable results for the Foundation, volunteering and giving programming.

  • Research premier foundation initiatives; modify and implement as appropriate and identify and address issues and solutions related to the foundation and 2030 Goals implementation.

  • Provide ongoing management of nonprofit and community relationships to ensure metrics and outcomes are achieved.

  • Partnering with cross-functional teams, identify unique functional/brand/regional Team Member needs while balancing the overall purpose and requirements of the global TwP strategy.

  • Lead responsibilities on large scale projects, delegated to both Corporate Responsibility Team Members, and cross-functional partners within the organization.

  • Research, evaluate and select vendors/partners to support TM engagement and participation in TwP programming. This includes managing and maintaining positive relationships as well as handling scope of work and reporting.

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the Company:

  • Collaborate with all brands on enterprise-wide initiatives.

  • Handle any and all other job duties as assigned.

What are we looking for?

We believe the success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:

  • Non-profit and foundation management or related experience, preferably within the hospitality industry

  • Budget forecasting and management skills

  • Grant-making and program effectiveness/evaluation experience

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and quality

  • Ability to evaluate and see opportunities from a strategic perspective, including ability to develop, prioritize and implement plans to meet this position’s core goals

  • Strong analytical, quantitative and data management skills and can synthesize, translate and clearly communicate complex concepts into clear, tangible ideas

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; communicates effectively within a global corporate structure and demonstrates a track record of working across a range of cultures and languages

  • Ability to work independently, which includes the ability to recognize the need for involvement of supervisor and other teams/peers

  • Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information

  • Ability to stay calm and effective under pressure

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to handle several projects at once, even while away from the office

  • Ability to take direction with minimal explanation and to understand concepts quickly

  • Ability to implement collaborative efforts of resources throughout the Hilton organization, including internal resources, external resources and other constituent groups as appropriate

  • Ability to lead change, resolve conflicts and ensure collaboration within teams and/or units, including maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Knowledgeable of current best practices in community affairs/corporate responsibility/employee engagement programs

  • High-energy and can-do positive spirit

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Seven (7) years of experience in the public/private sectors on issues and activities related to corporate foundations, corporate responsibility, philanthropy, community relations, and/or corporate partnerships

  • Can be available/accessible during non-traditional hours when/if needed

It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree in Public Affairs, Public Policy, Non-profit Management, International Relations or a related major

  • Experience working within a large business, preferably a global organization

  • Public Relations/Communications agency experience

  • Hospitality industry experience

  • Fluency in Spanish
