Communications and Wireless Systems EngineerKey Role:Design, develop, modify, and evaluate complicated devices, systems, or software that leverages machine learning for RF theory applications. Maintain technical responsibility for analyzing and conducting technical processes or project phases and coordinate the efforts of developers and communications theory specialists, as required. Analyze and recommend design approaches for new or improved software products or processes. Consolidate the results of hardware design elements for assigned projects and conduct independent technical investigations involving software, neural networks, and communication theory. Provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed. This position requires travel of up to 25% of the time, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience with common engineering tools and functions, including Linux, scripting, including Python, embedded software development, including blinking an LED on a development board, and integrating systems together, including interpreting ICDs
  • Experience with software development in Python, C/C, or Java
  • Knowledge of wireless communication systems and embedded signal processing
  • Knowledge of basic signal processing operations, including filtering, resampling, amplification, or mixing and how to implement them from first engineering principals
  • Knowledge of common software defined radio platforms, including Ettus USRP Series and implementation of real-time signal processing workflows that leverage them as a front end
  • Ability to integrate development boards, provide technical oversight and leadership, work independently, synthesize and present conclusions of engineering work to client, and apply foundational engineering expertise to a broad array of applications and technologies
  • Ability to apply complex technical concepts to client missions and use cases
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks, including Keras or Tensorflow
  • Knowledge of distributed computing applications for signal processing and/or CUDA software libraries
  • Knowledge of commercial wireless technologies, link budgets, and RF propagation
  • Ability to show intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to perform occasional CONUS and OCONUS travel at the customer's request
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • MS degree in EE, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Software Engineering, or CS
