This is a contract to hire role with a salary range of $50/HR to $65/HR (dependent on experience) for the initial contract period and convert at an annual salary of $98K to $108K after 6 months. AMS Staffing is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to work out of their client's Merrifield, VA office.Roles and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):· Will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design equipment· Will have a hands-on role designing, engineering and exploring prototypes, test solutions and new innovations that support inventory processing· Will continually find new and better ways to solve complex problems within constrained environments· Will demonstrate cross-functional expertise to accomplish your goals· Will play a role in defining the approaches and solutions being developed by the entire team· You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment· Will need to travel occasionally to support testing/deployment/installation for software and hardware at inventory processing center or vendor facility within United States Required Skills/Abilities:· Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional service· Experience with Cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure, etc.)· Experience with Geospatial Technology· Knowledge in Hardware and software architecture/system interfaces on automation equipment· Quick learner and willing to go through extensive training/learning· Travel at inventory processing center and vendor location within United States Preferred Skills/Abilities· Experience in 24x7 production environments· Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment methodologies· Ability to perform deep, technical troubleshooting· Strong documentation skills· Strong knowledge of networking technologies· Ability to understand Operational processes and hands-on experience· Show good judgement making technical trade-offs between your groups short term and long term business needs, and the needs of the company as a whole· Able to communicate project status, drive and elevate decision making and help requests· Ability to conduct multiple weekly/bi-weekly/monthly standing meetings with internal teams and vendors to plan and track deliverables· Support development of technical specifications with engineered solutions Security Requirements- Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
