Job Description and Responsibilities The SQL / ETL Developer applies knowledge of database concepts and techniques to develop data models and write ETL components that manipulate and transformation data for business data acquisition, aggregation, and dissemination. Uses scientific and engineering logic to independently identify conceptual or theoretical solutions to problems of data design and operation. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design relational data models
  • Write ETL code querying relational databases, tabular excel data, and CSV data
  • Write ETL routines to confirm full data content is transferred successfully
  • Write procedures to perform automated operations on data and provide business rule views of data
  • Perform data discovery to profile data for ETL requirements and find anomalous data
  • Optimize queries for large volumes of data
  • Write ETL code to migrate data to specific shards in a database farm

Requirements 4+ years of experience working with relational databases: writing complex SQL, designing data models, and/or developing ETL. Experience with SQL Server Version 2016 or later. Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance:

  • Write performant complex SQL statements against terabyte+ size datasets
  • Develop relational data models to accommodate in-process data for automated ETL processes
  • Optimize ETL and SQL statements
  • Analyze and troubleshooting database performance issues
  • Develop ETL routines that manipulating and transfer large volumes of data and perform quality checks to confirm all data is transferred
  • Using version control systems, GIT preferred
  • Works well in a distributed team environment
Nice to have Experience:

  • Querying REST API's and consuming JSON data
  • Oracle
  • AWS S3 and Glacier
and able to obtain a Public Trust. Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 25 lbs.
