We are currently looking for a host family for a male, 16 year old Chinese student attending private high school in Virginia Beach!
Requirements for hosting a student:
Private, furnished bedroom
Meals
Wi-Fi access
Driving student to and from school
Monthly student status report sent to MIF
Willingness to attend occasional school events or parent-teacher conferences
Caring family environment, supportive atmosphere
Homestay length: The homestay will last 1 month initially so both host family and student can determine if it is a good fit. Possible extension through the Spring semester if both host family and student are happy to continue.
COMPENSATION:
Host is paid $1000.00 per month. Compensation is divided into 2 pay periods per month and sent via direct deposit or check from My International Family. (Student is responsible for all personal costs for personal toiletries, medical, travel, entrance fees/tickets, etc.)
MORE INFO ABOUT HOSTING:
Students arrive with an intermediate English level, have their own medical insurance, and come with spending money for personal expenses and activities. Hosting teenagers who are far from home requires flexibility, patience, and openness to cultural differences. Eligible hosts will have a clean, well-maintained home, successfully pass a criminal background check, and speak English fluently.
