- Applies configuration changes to Cisco Nexus network switches, Cisco Catalyst routers, Cisco ASA firewalls, and Cisco ISE servers.
- Performs quarterly STIG checks on all network hardware.
- Performs network hardware installation and setup in a data center environment.
- Maintains up-to-date IP spreadsheets, Visio network diagrams, and rack diagrams in a data center environment.
- Supports F5 (load balancing appliance) maintenance
- Supports Patch Matrix spreadsheet update/maintenance
- Evaluates existing network systems to ensure network capacity meets current and future network requirements.
- Analyzes customer requirements to determine optimal network solutions
- Monitors network performance and troubleshoots and resolves complex problems to maintain operating efficiency and ensure quality transmission service on the network. Uses subject matter expertise to diagnose and solve issues and has some authority to deviate from standard operating procedures
- Plans, installs, and maintains network systems for multiple classifications
- May provide installation, maintenance and repair of network hardware and software
- Develops and/modifies process and technical documentation. Creates network maintenance procedures, test plans, and related reports
- Plans and diagrams the physical layout and location of devices and the connection between devices participating on the network
- Evaluates and recommends networking product and software upgrades
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience required.
- Minimum 4-6 years of directly related experience in Network Administration including IA/Cyber Security compliance required.
- Hands-on STIG/SCAP experience required.
- Active DOD Secret clearance required; SSBI required.
- Current Security+ certification required.
- 16 hours Network training or Network admin certification
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Cisco Nexus Network switches
- Cisco Catalyst routers
- Cisco ASA firewalls
- Cisco ISE servers
- F5 (or similar load balance appliance) configuration/maintenance a plus
- TCP/IP Protocol, NTP, DHCP, DNS, etc.
- Understanding of IT Security best practices to meet DoD STIGs
