JOB SUMMARY: The Model and Simulation Content Developer serves as a member the Terrain Services Team for the support of virtual and gaming simulation databases that are used in Joint Staff J7 and Marine Corps exercises.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produce 3-D virtual & VBS3 terrain databases.
Prepare geographic data for use in constructive and virtual terrain databases.
Identify production process optimization; testing visual attributes to ensure models are rendered correctly as part of the virtual terrain database.
Create and modify 3D real-time visual and common environment models.
Develop metadata and versioning of geospatial data.
Update and maintain terrain database library.
Coordinate and liaison with source data providers and exercises planner's / customers.
Conduct field data collection activities.
Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
Technical certificate gaming design or architecture. May consider years of experience in lieu of a technical certificate.
Will consider years of military experience or private industry in lieu of degree or technical certificate or 2 years relevant work experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years' experience with Virtual BattleSpace 3 (VBS 3) as either a VBS Instructor Controller (IC) or Simulation Analyst desired or three (3) years' experience in 3D modeling, gaming (Arma 2) design or architecture.
Familiarity with Bohemia Interactive (BI) content development software.
Experience with one or more 3D model generation software tools such as MultiGen Creator, 3D Studio Max.
Experience with one or more commercial GIS software packages, including ArcGIS 10.x, ERDAS Imagine, or Global Mapper.
Understanding of visual database concepts, remotely sensed imagery, 3D Models, terrain modeling, and synthetic environments a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to communicate professionally at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
Ability to obtain a DOD security clearance required.
TRAVEL: Infrequent periods of travel within and outside the United States.
