Job Description for Lab Technician
Lab Technician: Part time (potential for Full time), experienced lab technician (non-manager) for small, high throughput Molecular Biology laboratory (human cell and plant research) in Virginia Beach, VA. Bachelors Degree in Life Sciences or related field preferred. Technical proficiencies required include:
Dilutions, weights and other basic lab skills
Sterile technique
Human cell culture initiation and maintenance
DNA/RNA Isolation from cell culture and tissue
RT-PCR or related gene expression testing
ELISA testing
Excellent record keeping and scientific notation
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
Ability to work alone or with a team
Experience with the following is a plus but not required:
Statistical analysis
Immunohistochemical techniques
Microscopic and Micrographic techniques
Plant Tissue culture
Laboratory Inventory Control
Development of Laboratory SOPs
