CBN / Regent Campus Police Department - Virginia Beach, VA
The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) and Regent University are looking for a Front Desk Officer who will serve and provide for the public safety and protection of our Corporate Support Building (CSB) by maintaining the armed desk sentry post.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Ability to complete and maintain DCJS qualified Armed Security Officer certification (training sponsored by CBN)
Previous work experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred
Ability to be qualified in the use of small firearms and shotgun and pass departmental physical fitness tests
Certified or capable of obtaining CPR and First Aid certification
Ability to lead in emergency situations
Basic computer skills and ability to multi-task
Ability to interact in a positive, professional manner with the public and all levels of management
Excellent communication and public relations skills
Must be able to operate a variety of equipment, including a two-way radio and other telecommunications systems
Ability to speak clearly, hear, analyze, and react quickly to high-stress situations
Ability to act independently with minimal supervision
Must have a valid driver's license and a good DMV record
Must possess the manual dexterity and strength necessary to safely operate a firearm
Must meet eligible levels of vision, hearing, physical and mental strength to participate in all training and job duties
Ability to move quickly and/or run, bend and lift up to 150 lbs and walk/stand for long periods of time
Submit to pre-employment drug screening and random urinalysis as directed
Ability to work rotating shifts and holidays
Selection Process:
The Regent Police Patrol Officer selection process is a multi-tiered process. The selection process may include the following components: Department Ride-Along Written Test Physical Ability Test Background Investigation Panel Interview Health Physical Psychological exam provided at CBN's expense. Successful candidates must meet the Commonwealth of Virginia's criteria for the issuance of a concealed handgun permit.
Special Requirements:
Employees must be available to work overtime when required to meet operational needs. This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug testing.
