We're Hiring: Lead Carpenter – Join the HomeWorx Team!
Location: Newport News, VA
Position Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $24-30/hr. based on experience
HomeWorx is growing, and we’re looking for a skilled Lead Carpenter to take charge and help us build exceptional outdoor living spaces! Our current focus is on sunrooms and decks, but we also offer a wide range of handyman and general carpentry services—so versatility is key.
What You'll Do:
Lead residential construction projects with an emphasis on decks and sunrooms
Take on a variety of general carpentry and handyman tasks—framing, trim, drywall, doors, windows, repairs, etc.
Read and interpret blueprints, manage materials, and ensure jobs stay on schedule
Deliver quality work and outstanding customer service
Work independently and manage small crews when needed
What We're Looking For:
5+ years of carpentry experience (deck and sunroom experience is a big plus)
Strong handyman skills and ability to handle diverse home repairs
Leadership ability and a track record of running job sites
Reliable transportation and own tools
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-friendly
Bonus Points For:
Experience training apprentices or helpers
Comfort communicating directly with homeowners
Knowledge of local building codes
