Operating Business Model

-Measuring process set to control costs and limit risk

 Re-measure each sale to ensure all proper materials and amounts of material are accounted for and delivered on time. This will also alleviate excessive returns.

 Project Consultants to measure from the ground (safety focus)

-Tightly managed contractor network

 Minimum of 5 years roofing industry experience

 Minimum of 3 years as proprietor in own business

 2 or more trade references required, 1 being a supplier of roofing products

 Must offer a 5 year labor warranty

 Limited contractors per market (<5)

 Background check required for principal and all crew members

 Contractors must be properly licensed

 Crew Size is Principal + 3 crew members minimum

 In a State that licenses roofers, copy of the roofing license must be provided

 All insurances must meet Financial rating of A- or higher

 Must carry minimum insurance required by Sears (including Workers Comp)

 Must verify that General Liability insurance covers specifically both putting up and tearing down roofing.

 Need a copy of the full General Liability insurance policy with no exclusions.

 Corporate approval required before contractor can be issued a job

 If the word Roofing is in the companys name, it is easier to establish time in the business, specifically doing roofing work. If its not, we need to establish specific roofing experience prior to sending for corporate approval. This can be done with invoices or tax documents over the past 5 years.

-Contractors are required to provide digital photographs of each step of the installation process with emphasis on rotten wood, valleys, ventilation, etc.
