Information Systems Specialist LinTech Global is looking for an Information Systems Specialist to support a current contract in Portsmouth, VA.

Background: The Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth and its associated (7) Branch Medical Clinics (BMC), (11) Dental Treatment Facilities (DTF) and (3) Tricare Clinics provide a full and complete range of inpatient and outpatient medical services to the operational forces, Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries, and other eligible personnel within the Tricare IMD- Atlantic Region. The NMCP Information Management Department (IMD) is responsible for the planning and implementation of medical information systems on a local and metropolitan area basis and in support of standard DoD and Navy medical information systems in accordance with Defense Health Agency (DHA) directives. This includes Microsoft Windows and Exchange Mail, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Windows Update Server (WUS); installation, configuration, user migration, training and post-deployment operational support, or any other authorized MHS system.

POSITION OVERVIEW The Information Systems Specialist provides primary server administration responsible for server management and maintenance supporting infrastructure for various purposes and over various network topologies such as Ethernet & Wireless connectivity, going through, but not limited to, Firewalls, VPNs, Access Points, Network Access Controls, Gateways, Routers, and Concentrators. Your work will involve planning, directing, and coordinating the design, installation, management, configuration, testing, operation, troubleshooting, system analysis, and maintenance of various HW/SW end user devices, peripherals, and server and enterprise management systems, network/systems monitoring tools, Storage Area Networks (SAN), applications, databases, and web services. With minimal supervision, you will review proposed changes to server, network/monitoring tools, applications, SAN, databases, and web service systems configuration HW/SW. For administration duties, this includes leading SA functions on designated application servers (UNIX/ORACLE, Windows, Exchange, SQL , Web services, DHCP/WINS, Active Directory, etc.); creating/issuing/managing accounts and passwords; and developing and enforcing network security program standards such as Group Policies, collaboration tools, and computer/network scripts. You will manage, schedule and monitor system and data backups and restorations through an enterprise network backup system.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
  • Maintaining the functionality and availability of systems. This includes deploying operating systems, maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting end user devices, peripherals, and server hardware and software and implementing and verifying systems backup and restoration
  • All Systems requiring coverage, as detailed in the "Program Chart" attachment
  • Apply knowledge of systems integration methods, information systems security principles and methods, ability to troubleshoot problems, and ability to provide technical expertise to plan and coordinate the installation of new end user devices, peripherals, servers, server software, and server services.
  • Apply knowledge of the IT infrastructure, knowledge of requirements analysis methods and trouble shooting ability to identify existing server performance, availability, capacity, or configuration problems, and to initiate actions, such as changes to server systems, to correct/avoid problems.
  • Apply knowledge of systems integration methods, and knowledge of the mission and programs of customer organization to ensure the delivery of IT services the meet customer needs.
  • Supports the IA program by preparing Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages supporting systems accreditation requirements/process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    • Six years combined experience directly related to any of the following:
      • Database Administration
      • Database Analysis
      • Database Report Reproduction
      • Data-Dictionary Administration
      • System Development
    • Security+ Certification
    • NACLAC clearance
    • As an employee, you will be required to get a yearly flu shot, as well as two tuberculosis tests. Lastly, you will need to have all up-to-date vaccinations
