Overview

$5000 Sign-on Bonus

Primarily responsible for lifecycle system engineering development and delivery of USCG shipboard Electro-Optical (EO) systems, to include Flight Deck Video Systems (FDVS), Maritime Forward Looking Infrared (MARFLIR), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Cutter Video Recording Systems (CVRS), and related integration with electronic navigation sensors and systems. Coordinate, support, or perform project and technical writing activities related to all aspects of an engineering project.

May provide support in the areas of engineering presentation and development of, systems requirements, design, documentation, software implementation, hardware layout, integration, installation, analysis, and peripheral interfaces. Generates test and evaluation plans, and executes those plans when necessary. Exercises independent judgment in solving complex and/or unusual technical issues. These services support the U.S. Coast Guard's over-arching life-cycle requirement for C5I systems aboard all Coast Guard cutters and boats, to include engineering support laboratories.

Responsibilities

  • The candidate shall have ten (10) years of relevant experience and current experience in engineering, design, maintenance and installation of Command Control and Communication Systems Technical experience with four of the following equipment/systems/programs or like systems:
    • Automatic direction finder (ADF), Doppler speed log (DSL), RADAR, EAIS, ECDIS, electronic chart system (ECS), VEGA, flight deck video system, CCTV, visual augmentation systems, cutter video systems (CVRS), electro optical infrared systems (EO/IR), electronic navigation system (ENS), and scalable integrated navigation system (SINS), and their integration with Machinery Plant Control and Monitoring Systems (MPCMS), Dynamic Positioning Systems (DPS), and Track Controller/Autopilot systems.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications to draft reports, emails, presentations, create system architecture and integration diagrams, and possess a thorough knowledge of performing independent research.
  • Deliver engineering related presentations within a Configuration Control Board (CCB) setting.
  • Develop and deliver Engineering Change (EC) documentation and activities (i.e. integration testing) within an established System Engineering or Configuration Management process.
  • Conduct hardware and software light off, testing, evaluation, and resolve system issues as required.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to Installation Activities (IA) during system testing, prototype, and/or production events.
  • Provide on-site, phone, and email support for the purpose of technical corrective maintenance to resolve system casualties.
  • Strong knowledge of shipboard electronic system installation and integration process and applicable Government standards.
  • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting and corrective maintenance involving complex electronic navigation systems.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Associate Degree in Engineering or completion of USCG or DOD Technical Schools. Substitute for education:
    • Comprehensive knowledge of DOD military specifications and standards. Demonstrated Expert: Seven (7) years of concurrent, relevant experience in engineering, design, maintenance and installation of Command, Control and Communication Systems.
  • CONUS and OCONUS Travel
  • Working knowledge and engineering/integration expertise with military shipboard Electro-Optical (EO) systems to include or similar to Flight Deck Video Systems (FDVS), Maritime Forward Looking Infrared (MARFLIR), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Cutter Video Recording Systems (CVRS), and related integration with electronic navigation sensors and systems.
