The candidate will support the RITS Server and Storage team and provide leadership and technical guidance to manage and support enterprise-wide technology infrastructure systems engineering and integration activities with a specific focus on server and storage technologies. This role is 100% REMOTE The Server and Storage Architect will support the oversight and provide guidance to engineers in each of server and storage functional areas. The candidate will provide architectural and technical guidance about the solutions being developed and guide the teams in conducting planning and execution of IT Service enhancements to promote alignment with the business, supportability, and integration quality, with a focus on server and storage operational readiness of all solutions. The Server and Storage Architect will assist in planning and directing system monitoring, performance analysis, server/storage management, and enterprise troubleshooting. Assists with devising solutions to operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment. May develop and execute contingency plans for hardware failures including isolated and major outages. Provides internal consulting, technical guidance, information and support. Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of experience; or a Master's degree or equivalent experience and eight (8) years of experience. Equivalent experience substituted for degrees must be in Tier II support, Tier III support, and server infrastructure architecture.
- 5+ years of experience engineering and operating large IT infrastructure (supporting thousands of users).
- 5+ years of experience performing Enterprise level project implementation and support with strong working knowledge of operating systems and storage infrastructure, virtualization, DNS/DHCP, system backups, cloud technology, knowledge of multiprocessing, threading, concurrency, distributed systems, load balancing, high availability, and COOP/DR.
- Certifications:
- CISSP/CASP+
- Experience developing technical requirements, project plans and schedules and briefing senior government customers.
- Experience supporting government customers in unsecure and secure environments, familiarity of government operating standards and applicable guidelines.
- Experience in performing root cause analysis, risk identification, and risk mitigation.
- ITIL ® Foundation certification. Experience with ITIL methodology; specifically Incident, Request and Change management principles and tracking systems.
- Familiarity with US government network environments and policies (data and voice networks, IT security systems, policies and procedures).
- Interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively, self-awareness, and excellent written and oral communications.
