DescriptionSAIC is seeking a forward-thinking, hands-on Principal Software Tester to join our team in Alexandria, VA.This position is primarily Remote / Virtual / Work from home position and will require occasional on-site at the Mark Center (Alexandria, VA) as required to support test events and customer meetings etc. Preferred home of record near Alexandria, VA or willing to relocate to the area for periodic onsite visits.Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be an experienced Software Tester who is able to serve our customer in testing current and future software applications and modules.
Candidate is expected to have a complete understanding of software engineering principles, theories, and concepts. Activities may include supporting testing events, developing and/or mapping requirements to test cases, and supporting design activities.
Requires the ability to understand customer problems, quickly learn new tools and technologies, and work both independently and as part of a team of developers and functional experts to rapidly deliver customer solutions.
Candidate must demonstrate the ability to meet objectives using good judgment and techniques for obtaining solutions while working under general direction.
Candidate will work in an agile environment, attend daily scrum meetings, and work collaboratively with team in an Azure Dev Ops environment.
Candidate will represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects, which may require direct communication with customers.
QualificationsRequired Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of relevant experience; Masters and three (3) years of relevant experience; 4+ years of additional experience can be used in lieu of degree.
Required Security Clearance:
Must be eligible for a DoD Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Required Skills:
Demonstrated aptitude to learn complex technical aspects of a software application and systems
Strong Knowledge and experience in structured software testing and experience documenting test procedures
Experience using applications to track testing, such as Azure DevOps (ADO)
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000.
