Job Description - Technical Business Data Analyst
We are currently looking for a Technical Business Data Analyst with experience in the Finance/Banking domain to join a new long-term contract project with one of our key financial customers. This product modernization project serves an enterprise-level client within the Wealth and Investment Management sector seeking to deliver new capabilities aimed at creating a best-in-class experience for their clients and advisors. Position can be remote and must be US Based. Prefer candidates in EST or CST time zone. We are not able to offer Visa sponsorship. Job Duties- Providing technical business analysis to support enterprise-level system data design and delivery strategy.
- Evaluating data environments and providing detailed artifacts (examples: data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, data governance recommendations, etc.) assisting with strategic decisions on new and updated systems.
- Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and providing thorough data feature analysis.
- Processing confidential data and information according to guidelines, providing quality assurance of data usage and chain of custody.
- Identifying and revising system reporting and analytics requirements.
- Generating reports from single or multiple systems.
- Evaluating reports and reporting systems to recommend toolchain and process improvements.
- Interpreting data and metadata, analyzing results using statistical techniques, and providing recommendations for business rule improvements.
- Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Develop and implement data analytics and other strategies that optimize system efficiency and quality
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
- Assisting with the definition of functional and non-functional data requirements.
- Providing researched requirements informing user-centered data interaction design.
- Creating and maintaining bodies of knowledge related to data findings.
- Troubleshooting data processes and recommending feasible change-based corrections.
- Evaluating changes and updates to source production systems.
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
- Developing reports and analysis to be delivered to program management and key stakeholders.
- Presenting data research and analysis to cross-functional teams, management, clients, external contractors, and stakeholders.
- Proven working experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
- Technical expertise regarding reporting systems, data delivery, data mining, data visualization, data usability, and segmentation techniques
- Strong knowledge of and experience with report and dashboard design, reporting tools and packages, and data integration
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using and interpreting statistical datasets
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated working knowledge of technical analysis, report writing and presenting findings
- BS in Business, Computer Science, Information Management, Mathematics, Statistics or related field OR strong history of work performing advanced Technical Business Analysis
- Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks.
- Strong understanding of change management processes.
- Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
- Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, Client terms.
- Demonstrated experience in methodologies and processes for evaluating large-scale reporting systems and structures.
- Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational data streams.
- Understanding of governance and metadata standards.
- Understanding of data usability and front-end data accessibility standards.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with financial databases and/or reporting systems
- Knowledge of or experience working with VMWare
- Knowledge of DataOps Principles
- Understanding of key human centered design principles
