Job Description: Responsible for analyzing, reporting, and developing recommendations on data related to complex and varied business metrics. For the Business Information Analyst Sr role, the employee typically provides technical assistance to lower-level staff.

Location: Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA, Mason, OH, Richmond, VA, Virginia Beach, VA, Norfolk, VA.

(Additional locations will be considered as this position is remote.)

Business Information Analyst Sr Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
  • Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
  • Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.
  • May require taking business issues and devising the best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.
  • May make recommendations based upon data analysis.

Business Information Analyst II Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications for Business Information Analyst Sr: This job is focused on complex and varied metrics, making recommendations, and providing assistance to staff as compared to the Bus Info Analyst II job.
  • Requires a BS/BA degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years data analysis or related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is required.
  • The ability to manipulate large sets of data is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications for Business Information Analyst II: This job is more focused on technical expertise and analysis as compared to the Bus Info Analyst I job.
  • Requires a BS/BA degree in related field; 2-4 years related operational and/or data analysis experience; experience in database structures, and standard query and reporting tools; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Qualifications for Business Information Analyst Sr and II:
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Data Sciences or equivalent job experience
  • Experience in Tableau and SSRS development and report writing is required with experience generating advanced visuals and dashboarding
  • 3+ years experience in developing in Tableau, SSRS, and other BI solutions
  • 3+ years experience using Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008/2012/2014 solutions and reporting
  • Advanced understanding of Relational and Dimensional data structures and use
  • Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices
  • Review the designs, code, and test plans of other engineers and developers
  • Experience with healthcare data/managed care preferred
