Job Description: Business Analyst with strong functional and technical skills in the Data Governance including metadata management, data profiling subjects, data quality and data security; providing services and solutions aligned with overall Pacific Life Data governance strategy.As Data Governance business analyst, you'll play a key role in the design, implementation, and improvement of the RSD's Data Governance tools and measurements. You'll partner closely with the Data Governance Program Manager and other Data Management Analysts to contribute to the Division Data Strategy to drive improvements in the Data Governance adoption, efficiency, effectiveness and user experience. In this role, you'll lead the discovery sessions with business, define approach and capture business processes, implement data governance practices and supporting tools to drive our division Metadata Management strategy forward. What You'll Do Define the metadata management standards and disseminate this information out to the business and technical communities who will be capturing and creating metadata Analyze data and partner with domain owners, data stewards, and other business and IT stakeholders to ensure governance functions are adhered to and the business has a full understanding of their data Participate in the metadata management process by ensuring that data profiling and data quality monitoring rules are documented in the metadata repository Utilize data quality tools and techniques to help ensure that data accuracy is appropriate for the intended business use; ensure that business rules are maintained, and data anomalies are resolved appropriately Work with internal and external Stakeholders to ensure Metadata Management approaches and processes meet the needs of the end user community Play a leading role within project teams in the development and deployment of Metadata Management process improvement deliverables using the lean methodology Partner with other Data Management Analysts and the Data Steward community to drive adoption of metadata management in each business area, ensuring alignment with Enterprise standards; act as the focal point for Division and Analytics business partners, who are driving data strategy and requirements Support effective communication and training for metadata management process, tools, and measurements; monitor the quality of the metadata that is captured to ensure that it is meeting standards, and report on this quality to the accountable parties Build effective relationships with key business partners across the company; work closely with the core data governance team to ensure the definition and implementation for metadata standards meet the needs of the Data Steering Committee

Tech & Tools You'll Use Snowflake, SQL, Data Lake and Warehouses, Collibra's Data Governance and Catalog Toolset, Python Factors for Success 5+ years' data governance experience that covers standards and policies, metadata management, data error resolution, reference data management, master data management and data quality practices including data profiling and data quality monitoring 5+ years' experience defining and establishing metadata management processes within an enterprise that covers domains such as customer, finance, HR and compliance, and utilizing Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) 3+ years' experience using Collibra's data governance and catalog toolset; 2+ years' experience defining metadata standards; Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) or Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) Proven ability and demonstration of leadership skills, with emphasis on driving change across a diverse set of stakeholders Demonstrated understanding of business and data strategy and how it's connected to Data Governance; strong process orientation/improvement skills to ensure governance delivers sustainable processes; strong business acumen and organizational awareness; demonstrated project management skills Experience with metrics gathering, tracking and reporting; experience working on complex business/technology initiatives within and across multiple businesses Strong written communication skills including experience drafting policies and procedures; strong relationship building skills, demonstrated consultative approach and influencing skills Deep experience in a data management practices and data governance including data dictionaries, metadata repositories and data quality management tools Ability to analyze complex data issues and determine appropriate policies, standards and solutions to enhance the experience for data users; highly self-motivated, willingness to take personal risk and detail-oriented
