It's all part of what makes #MyRichmondFed a great place to work!About the OpportunityWe are looking for a number of Cloud Engineers (at various levels) to support the Federal Reserve System's (FRS) transformation from on-premise data centers to cloud solutions and the development of secure cloud capabilities that we will use to host new applications and applications migrating to the cloud.As a Cloud Engineer, you will develop conceptual and detailed IT engineering designs that support the infrastructure requirements for cloud services, focusing on information security design and secure solutions. Once designed, you will work with our teams to build out the infrastructure capabilities, through code, and provide these solutions to application delivery teams across the country.What You Will Do:- Develop and document cloud-based designs, including integration with FRS systems located in our data centers
- Working knowledge of architecture and design of solutions using cloud-based technologies
- Serve as a hands-on technical engineer for System level projects, with a focus on the development and implementation of strategic technological directives
- Resolve complex cloud, environmental software, operating systems, and subsystems incidents
- Design and develop infrastructure as code using standard software development lifecycles and techniques.
- Monitoring compliance with security configuration and risk management
- Experience with several of the following: Azure Powershell Cmdlets or Azure CLI, GitLab and Ansible is preferred.
- Experience with enterprise cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- Flexibility to work remotely, adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.
- Ability to work using Agile methodologies in a collaborative team setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge pertaining to concepts and principles in functional area. General knowledge of department/business lines, Reserve Banks, and / or System operations, policies, procedures and technologies.
- Communications: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, creativity, attention to detail, and oral and written communications skills tailored for the intended audience.
- Risk Management: The individual] is responsible for understanding and applying risk management discipline in decision making, and contributing to his or her function's risk management.
- Decision Making: Works under direction and guidance in planning details of procedures and methods to attain definite objectives. Makes decisions within established or widely accepted standards. Achieves assigned/planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, training, business principles, and practical experience.
- Certified in AWS/Azure or other cloud technologies is preferred.
- Experience and certification in Terraform IaC coding is preferred.
