About the Opportunity:

The Service, Application, and Business Process Management team has an immediate opening for a Data Architect position reporting to the team's Vice President.

This team manages application portfolio, business modelling and IT service management processes for the Federal Reserve System. As such, we manage a rich set of integrated business and IT process data across three strategic platforms, ServiceNow, Mega/Hopex and ITAM Central, to deliver reactive, proactive and ultimately predictive analytics to business lines and IT.

A high-level goal of this position is to leverage fully understand individual and integrated processes and data lineage across platforms to drive optimal process designs and ensure high quality, reliable data is used in analytics and decision-making.

You will work cross-functionally with other Architects, Product Managers, Design Engineers, Developers, Business Analysts and Data Analysts in a rapidly evolving environment.

As part of National IT, our Service, Application, and Business Process Management team works with multiple business lines, the Board, and System IT groups. You will have an opportunity to showcase your critical thinking, process, data management and technical skills across many disciplines and across the Federal Reserve System.

What You Will Do:
  • Articulate the data management vision for integrated ServiceNow, Mega/Hopex and ITAM Central platforms and analytics leveraging industry data management methodologies
  • Partner with business lines to enable, architect, implement, and define the technical, process and data requirements, principles and models that guide data and analytics solution decisions
  • Develop product roadmaps in alignment with other data products and business roadmaps
  • Define data architecture and management principles, patterns, blueprints, guidelines, and standard methodologies for products
  • Responsible for translating business data and technical requirements into architectural blueprints that outline solutions for enabling data migration and analytics tool within the cloud and on-prem cloud environment.
  • Provide analysis of current state, future state, and define key outcomes for an IT data platform strategy.
  • Collaborate with vendor partners to deeply understand data models, automated data collection, data movement and data storage capabilities
  • Engage with business and IT stakeholders at all levels across the System to promote adoption, optimization and continuous improvement of business value delivery.
  • Conduct research and POCs (proofs of concept) with emerging technologies and adopt industry best practices in the data space for advancing the cloud data platform.
  • Provide consulting and guidance on data and analytics business solution development
  • Demonstrate leadership, collaboration, exceptional communication, negotiation, strategic and influencing skills to produce the best solutions.
  • Be a core player in technical and process design and governance from ideation to delivery
  • Stay relevant and ahead of the curve on industry and technology trends by growing and participating in cross-disciplinary communities; lead, mentor and teach team members; participate in developing and presenting thought leadership

Qualifications:
  • Must have Business Acumen skills to understand and anticipate business priorities
  • Demonstrates mutual respect, embraces diversity, and acts with authenticity
  • Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technology transformational leader in data platform and analytics
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience; advance degree preferred
  • Five or more years architecting , building and implementing data analytics capabilities with demonstrable results
  • Experience in architecting and designing systems for standardized methods of data migration into the data lake and for data analysts, customers and accounts to access data stored in the cloud
  • Experience in developing product roadmap and translating to strategic plan
  • Must have experience in architecting and implementing data lake and analytics tools, CI/CD pipeline, big data open source tooling (Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Airflow, Redshift, Glue, DMS and other AWS data related services including various compute and storage offerings)
  • Experience with RDS, NOSQL Databases, RDBMS and in-memory databases.
  • Familiarity with Informatica data catalog, governance and data security is a plus
  • Hands on experience in one or more languages such as Java, JavaScript and Python
  • Strong background in data structures, performance, and scalability.
  • Microservices experience is strongly preferred
  • Must be familiar with Agile methodologies and able to work in an Agile manner
  • Must have a very strong application development background

  • The hiring range is $106,000 - $132,000 annually.
  • For candidates outside Richmond, VA, listed hiring and salary ranges may be adjusted based on your geographic location.
  • Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual's knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications.
