About the Opportunity

The Application Transition Factory Team has an immediate opening for DevOps Middleware Administrator. This position will provide on-going enterprise support for middleware and Linux OS activities associated with the installation, upgrading, testing, migration and maintenance of software, containers and virtual hardware across the Federal Reserve System.

What You Will Do:
  • Work with developers, application owners and vendors to facilitate app installs, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Optimize and automate current manual processes to reduce TOIL (Continual Improvement)
  • Follow detailed work plans for both installation and continuing maintenance
  • Conduct tests, configure monitoring & alerting for new installations
  • Address security, compliance, vulnerability, and audit findings
  • Produce technical documentation to enable the operational support of migrated workloads.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, which provides 24/7 support to applications the team is responsible for.
  • Troubleshoot degraded or impacted applications, participate in Incident Management & After-Action Review calls
  • Work productively within a regimented, secure change controlled and locked down environment
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux operating systems
  • 3+ years of working with containerized platforms optimizing and troubleshooting complex applications
  • Basic understanding or experience with cloud technologies and terminology
  • Experienced with RedHat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)
  • Experience working in with Enterprise Change Management Systems (Remedy, ServiceNow)
  • Experience working in and Agile methodology (SCRUM / Kanban) and within a Product Model Org Structure.
  • Cloud certifications a plus.
  • Site Reliability Engineering experience a plus (SRE)
  • Scripting, RPA, Automation, IaC (Infrastructure as Code), Six Sigma experience a plus.
