Job Description

The

Performance Engineer position supports solar projects in both Regulated (COC3) and Merchant (COC4) business units including Utility Scale Program (ground mounted fixed and tracker systems from 20MW and much larger 150MW) and Distributed Solar Program (1 to 3 MW ground mounted, roof top, and carport configurations).

The Performance Engineer’s duties are outlined in the following roles:

EPC Contract Role - The Performance Engineer requires a working knowledge of the EPC contract sufficient to support writing, revising, negotiating, and interpreting the EPC Contract Requirements specifically Exhibit B-1, B-3, B-10, T, A-1, Electrical Drawings, and

PVsyst software.

Diligence/Acquisition Role - The Performance Engineer supports the diligence team while projects are being considered for acquisition.

Duties include:o Acquire needed documents for review. Exhibit B-10, Layout, One line diagram,

PVsyst PDF, 8760 file,

PVsyst Native Files. Exhibits T and A-1 if necessary.o Establish Task Order Releases (TOR) for Owners Engineer (OE) to perform independent technical review.o Review OE submitted report, comments, questions.o Address questions from the OE, understand the comments supplied and the report.o Once clarity between Owner and OE, schedule calls with affected parties including Developer to gain alignment to establish basis of energy production suitable to Owner.

Active Project Role – The Performance Engineer supports the projects during while each are obtaining the necessary construction permitting.

  • Reviews Change Orders that include any revisions to energy production.
  • Performance Testing to achieve Substantial Completion & Final Acceptance
  • Acquire needed documents for review. Exhibit B-10, Exhibit E, Layout, PVsyst PDF, 8760, PVsyst Native Files, Performance Test Data.
  • Establish TORs for OE work
  • Establish a call with the EPC to review the requirements for Performance Testing Plan.
  • Review Performance Testing Plan provided by the EPC with the OE. Work through the corrections needed. Have EPC correct and resubmit.
  • Follow testing in progress and address issues, concerns, test stoppage/restarts, etc.
  • Once data is submitted and OE reviews, review OE report, comments, questions.
  • Address questions from the OE, understand the comments supplied and the report.
  • Submit analysis of the EPC Performance Test to PM/Management.
