About the Opportunity

The National Information Security Assurance (NISA) team is seeking an energetic and innovative Advanced-level Information Security Advisor to serve as the SAFR Automation Product Owner/Solution Lead. Security Assurance for the Federal Reserve (SAFR) is the Federal Reserve's national information security program encompassing policies, standards, and support processes.

The SAFR Automation Product Owner/Solution Lead is responsible for value delivery to customers and will collaborate closely with other product owners, technical support leads, release train engineers, and scrum masters to advise on SAFR Automation requirements and priorities, and ensure full understanding of roadmaps, objectives, and features. The Product Owner is also a member of the core leadership team for SAFR Transformation, which is a new program to build the next generation of our information security program to better support cloud and modern system and applications development approaches such as DevSecOps.

This is an advanced level individual contributor role; however, they do provide direct leadership for the product team and customer focus groups. The Product Owner reports to the Officer in Charge of NISA.

What You Will Do:
  • Deliver value to SAFR Automation customers aligned with the goals of SAFR Transformation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and other stakeholders by assessing, evaluating, and fully understanding business and product needs and requirements.
  • Become an expert in the SAFR risk management life cycle and supporting processes to ensure automation tools are optimized for practitioners / customers.
  • Develop product roadmaps, business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in support of new features and functionality to better meet the needs of the organization. Work with Product Manager and delivery team to prioritize SAFR Automation backlog.
  • Work closely with SAFR Automation technical team to implement SAFR process configurations, approve changes, and ensure customer needs are met.
  • Advises a variety of different audiences, from individual contributors to senior executives on the SAFR Automation roadmap, either face to face or through regular written communication
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years' experience in information security and risk management.
  • 5+ years directly supporting NIST-based information security programs. Prefer at least 5 years' experience supporting security practitioners, ISSOs, SOs, and AOs through the risk management life cycle.
  • Experience with the information security and risk management GRC solutions / applications.
  • Solid foundation in cybersecurity. Preferred but not required certifications include: SAFR Certified, CISSP, SANs/GIAC or ISACA certifications. Cloud & cloud security certifications a plus.
  • Preferred but not required proficiency with product management and agile methodologies such as Kanban and/or scrum. SAFe certifications. Business Product Owner knowledge and experience such as translating strategy into functional implementations, developing Business Requirements, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Preferred Knowledge and/or experience with business process management and/or process improvement techniques, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in information systems, cybersecurity or a transferrable knowledge domain

  • The national hiring range of the Information Security Advisor - Advanced is 115,000- $158,800 annually. Salary range will be adjusted for the following markets: New York/New Jersey/San Francisco, Boston, Philadelphia/Chicago, and Seattle/Los Angeles.
