About the Opportunity

Our National Procurement Office (NPO) has an immediate opening for a System Supplier Diversity Program Advisor to oversee our Federal Reserve System (FRS) Supplier Diversity Program and initiatives.

As the System Supplier Diversity Program Advisor, you will partner with Supplier Diversity Program Leads, the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI) Council, and procurement leaders across the FRS leaders to drive our supplier diversity strategic direction, initiatives, and processes, track successes, and mitigate risks. You will develop strategic relationships, understand procurement needs, bridge the gap between national and local suppliers and business units, strategically guide and consult FRS business leaders, and recommend and implement solutions that will enhance our System Supplier Diversity Program.

Your role as the System Supplier Diversity Program Advisor will also provide the opportunity to represent the NPO and System Procurement at conferences, meetings, and events focused on diverse suppliers, and partner with the FRS Supplier Diversity Program Leads and the OMWI to monitor the FRS' activity and develop metrics to help in reporting to Congress.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide strategic guidance and consultation to System clients and leaders to evaluate, recommend, design and drive solutions and process improvements to the System Supplier Diversity program
  • Lead and participant in System Supplier Diversity program workgroups, initiatives, and projects
  • Influence and motivate key stakeholders by depicting the value and linkage to their individual Reserve Bank supplier diversity programs and objectives
  • Lead process improvement and long-term solution discussions and present outcomes in written and verbal format to management and System stakeholders
  • Increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency by establishing and monitoring goals, metrics, and timelines with System stakeholders
  • Establish process documentation guidelines and develop complex communication and business process strategies
  • Lead and/or key participant in project development surrounding new processes and the integrating of new processes with existing processes; develop communications of these changes to impacted clients
  • Administer System supplier diversity program standards and strategies for increased participation of qualifying businesses in System and Reserve Bank procurement activities
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME), in partnership with Legal, on federal, state and local government legislation and programs related to supplier diversity; advise management on impact to the Federal Reserve; recommend changes to the System procurement guidelines and policies which affect minority and women businesses participation
  • Represent the NPO at specific forums and meetings, both internal and external to the Federal Reserve System, related to supplier diversity
  • Partner with the OMWI Council in setting goals, planning, and developing System programs, and monitoring activity to support procurement diversity activity and to ensure compliance with the Dodd-Frank Act.
  • Partner with System leadership and peers to promote supplier diversity within the Federal Reserve System
  • Network with other inclusiveness/diversity professionals, locally and nationally, to say information about leading best practices and benchmark progress for supplier diversity efforts.

Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the supplier diversity community and have business contacts already established
  • Ability to partner with both internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain effective relationships
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills; prudent judgment, and decision-making ability, and an innovative approach to problem solving
  • Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to provide clear and concise information and/or instruction to key stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to create tailor communications to all levels of the organization, as well as external audiences
  • Ability to ask penetrating questions and identify unstated assumptions and influence without authority
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint along with various other online applications, as needed for the role
