Position Overview VDH IT Trainer - 5 ROLES Requirements: Note: local candidates needed due to onsite work requirement Candidates must be able to work ONSITE in Richmond, VA up to 3+ days each week, NO exceptions
- The agency has a need for trainers with Information Technology related skills in each VDH Region to assist employees with knowing what products are available to them and how best to use them in their daily tasks.
- VDH has determined that there is a need for regional trainers throughout the Commonwealth to assist with information technology user training. Training will consist of Microsoft 365, Hardware, Data Analysis and Software basics as well as new technologies rolled out by OIM. There is a need for a point person in each VDH region to guide employees and provide training that will make them more efficient in their job tasks.
- Determine skill gaps and training needs in consultation with district, regional, and OIM staff.
- Communicate skill gaps and training needs to the Office of Information Management and within the regional training team to best develop learning strategies, content, and delivery that best fits the needs of the users
- Demonstrate servant leadership through collaborative strategic and tactical planning to achieve holistic goals.
- Create and curate training materials
- Deliver trainings and offer follow-up support for ongoing learning
- Coach staff through troubleshooting computer hardware and software issues
- Advise staff regarding choosing applications and databases for their needs
- Respond to VDH IT Service Portal Tickets for training related requests
- Travel once a month to provide on-site training, if necessary
- Provide office hours for impromptu training requests.
- Bachelor's degree in education, Management Information Systems, Communications, Business or related field. Work experience in lieu of education can be accepted at hiring manager's discretion.
- Knowledge of adult learning and instructional design
- General working knowledge of MS 365 applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Forms, SharePoint, Teams, Bookings, and more.
- Experience leading building training materials such as videos, presentations or job aids.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software hands-on or from a help desk.
- 4+ Years of related professional experience
- 3+ years of experience advising and influencing internal stakeholders (leadership, technical trainers, etc.)

- Microsoft Office Specialist Certification - Associate or Above
- Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) Certification - Associate or Above
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) - Associate or Above
- ED Tech Certification Other Teaching Certifications that May be applicable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent training and facilitation skills.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
