Whisk bakery in Richmond, VA is seeking a full-time baker to join our team. We are a high-volume, from-scratch retail bakery, specializing in blending classic French technique with classic American flavors.
Our kitchen is fast-paced but fun and collaborative. Proficiency in basic baking and pastry techniques is required, and anyone with experience with viennoiserie, bread production, French macarons, and pate a choux, will be given preference.
Responsibilities include:
Participating in day-to-day culinary operations, including retail and wholesale
Mixing, baking, and finishing all bakery products including cookies, muffins, croissants, etc.
Maintaining quality of ingredients and products
Qualifications:
2+ years in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a retail bakery or other related venue
Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
Must be able to multitask, work efficiently, and cleanly
Culinary/Pastry degree preferred but not required
Passion for food and cooking techniques
Ability to thrive in a fast-pacedenvironment
Position is full-time and requires flexible availability, including evenings, mornings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to lift 50lb. We are looking for a strong collaborative partner who is interested in joining a quickly growing company.
