Oracle Development Team and DW integration Team supports VDOT business needs in their Application development, ETL Development and Data Integration.Resource Need:The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Information Technology Division is seeking a PL/SQL Developer Cum ETL Developer to join Oracle Development and Enterprise Datawarehouse Integration teams in EDM (Enterprise Data Management).The selected candidate will-Write and maintain/extend existing PL/SQL code to convert initial data sets, system enhancements, reports production, and improved transaction editing.-Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, may lead and direct the work of others, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.-Develop database packages, procedures, functions, and queries to maintain production data and address Oracle code related production support tickets and provide development support.-Design relational models for small and large scale applications.-Work with project and business analyst leads in order to develop and clarify in-depth technical requirements including logical and physical data modeling activities.-Expertise in ETL activities like Data Extraction, Data Modeling, Loading (Full/ Delta upload), and scheduling data loads, creating process chains-Procedures will be developed to migrate these changes or notify business users based on type of edit and business rules.-Develop procedures to populate and update a separate de-normalized database for reporting purposes from the transaction database.-Use Microsoft Team Foundation Server for source code management and team collaboration-Communicate effectively via email and in person with technical staff, management and business stakeholders as needed in the course of performing job duties.-Design and implement ETL processes for data transactions related to Enterprise Data Warehouse, Operational Data Store (ODS), and other data structures to support our Business Intelligence operations.-Help business users analyze data as well as providing data insight to upper management.-Identify and test for bugs and bottlenecks in the ETL solution.-Ensure the best possible performance and quality in the packages.-Provide support and fix issues in the packages ETL/ELT Developer.-Provide data analysis and validation.-Identification of performance issues on production and testing systems.-PL/SQL and SQL Tuning and Optimization of newly develop and existing applications.-Familiar with various Datastage stages sequence activities dynamic loading of data from different file formats and Oracle and SQL Server.-Participate in code reviews and be familiar with industry best practices coding standards.Qualifications:-5 to 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area-Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems with strong development experience or other applicable and/or equivalent development skills, knowledge and work history.o Knowledge of and experience with the following technologies:o Oracle 11g/12co PL/SQLo ETL Development with 5+ years of experience in IBM Datastage.o Toad, RedGate,SQL Developer like Oracle development toolso SQL Loader and other Data Load optionso Source Code and Team Management software (TFS preferred)They will work with the Teams which are working on Agile Development, DevOps and TFS.
