Ten Oaks, a hardwood flooring manufacturer nestled in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of southern Virginia just west of Martinsville and north of the Triad, is growing and looking for the right Financial Controller to help in the process. The right candidate will manage and ensure the optimum improvement of the administrative and financial requirements of the position while enabling management to make effective and timely decisions. The candidate will also assist company management in the accurate interpretation of relevant information with respect to Corporate, Government, and third-party financial agencies' policies and guidelines.

HIGH EFFICIENCY TASKS:

 Responsible for managing an accurate and timely flow of financial information leading up to the preparation of Monthly & Annual financial statements while providing analysis, trends, interpretation and recommendations to further the Business performance;

 Ensure the necessary controls are in place to standardize and improve efficiency and effectiveness inter-departmental and across the organization;

 Provide direction on cost and financial analysis, cost reduction and margin improvement programs, and guidance/opportunity on working capital management;

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Preparation of annual budget, financial statements and reports, departmental operating performance, cost information & variances and KPI’s review;

 Contribute to the furtherance of the Business’ objectives by monitoring/improving internal controls and managing/streamlining accounting functions and operations utilizing GAAP;

 Suggest changes using analytics to support recommendations leading to cost reduction and margin improvement programs;

 Ensure A/R, A/P, Payroll & Remittances are diligently monitored and dealt with in a timely fashion;

 Ensure compliance with Company and Government accounting policies & procedures.

 Process Banking and Payroll operation;

 Coordinate, provide information and participate in the audit process;

 Manage insurance programs in the organization

 Manage small accounting staff

 Leverage ad hoc reporting toolsets (D365. Excel, Microsoft tools, various software);

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

BACKGROUND Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (relevant Designation/certifications are an asset)

EXPERIENCE 2-3 years in Senior Accounting role

SKILLS Computer Savvy (Microsoft Tools/Excel advanced), Analytical & Problem solving, Judgement, Adaptable, Influence, Communication, Leadership
