Rockydale Quarries Corporation, an established aggregate producer, is seeking a General Accountant for their corporate office in Roanoke, VA. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller and will interact with various accounting positions to include AR and Payroll.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Preparing monthly journal entries and general ledger reconciliations;
Assisting in month-end closing and financial reporting process;
Preparing and/or reviewing various monthly/quarterly/annual tax amounts;
Assisting with the preparation of financial statements, and
Providing technical systems support for the Company's point-of-sale and financial reporting software.
Previous payroll experience is required.
Assist with implementation of automated timeclock system.
The successful candidate must be a well-organized self-starter with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities and have proven experience with integrated accounting software. Excellent and accurate computer skills including Excel, Microsoft Word, and/or other similar software required.
Minimum requirements are at least 5 years of strong Accounting experience, with experience working with multiple companies in a corporate environment a plus. B.S. degree in Accounting preferred, but not required. Experience may be considered in place of degree.
