Job Description
The ideal candidate will have a broad PCB design technical background, versed in all aspects of PC Board Design including schematic capture, layout and design, documentation and design checking.
Duties:
Review documentation necessary for PCB development generated by other engineering groups and verifies this documentation is sufficient for PCB design.
Generate, coordinate, and ensure completion of support documents as necessary. Generates and maintains PCB specifications.
Train engineers in schematic capture.
Train PCB designers in Mentor Graphics Expedition software.
Creation and maintenance of CAD library.
Work with other engineering personnel, establishes design parameters and ensures electronic designs comply with Design Validation specifications and product specifications.
Work with Manufacturing Engineering and outside vendors to identify and rectify fabrication, component, or assembly problems.
Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Sales and Marketing, and Quality Assurance to optimize designs for cost, quality, and manufacturability.
Design Printed Circuit board layouts based on engineering requirements and industry related experience.
Requirements:
Knowledge of PADS Software or Eagle Software.
Experience with high-speed digital designs, RF circuits, power supplies and analog circuits preferred.
Able to make decisions independently on PCB design problems and methods and use advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of own field and related sciences and disciplines.
Able to peer check others work and mentor another PCB Designer.
