Location: Roanoke, VA preferred location is Roanoke, VA. Will consider New Albany, OH, Tulsa, OK and Corpus Christi, TX.

Type of work: Job designation is Hybrid. Two days a week will be working on location with the remaining three days working remote. Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Minimal OT

Pay Rate: 30.00 - 35.00 hourly

Weekly Hours: 40 Hrs. /Week

Job Description:

Must have a working understanding of power system concepts of voltage and current as they pertain to power flow. Experience with Microsoft applications are also expected. Candidate will be expected to have experience or develop experience with Aspen. 1. Reviewing system breaker operations to determine whether the protection operated correctly. 2. Utilize relay event data and oscillography to assist with the determination. Remote relay interrogation may be required. 3. Document determination within the company's database and when protection does not perform properly, ensure that investigation is performed to find the misoperation cause and that mitigation actions are taken. 4. Strong oral and written communication skills will be beneficial to interface with field protection personnel, system operations, and engineering. 5. Successful candidate will assist supervisor in the development of a sub-transmission fault analysis program. Training will be provided in fault analysis.

Minimum Requirements:

This is an entry level position for new graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in a program accredited by ABET; Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination in preparation for future licensing as a Professional Engineer (PE) is encouraged and preferred.ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.

Acceptable alternatives are

(1) a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S. or

(2) a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.

Preferred location is Roanoke, VA. Will consider New Albany, OH, Tulsa, OK and Corpus Christi, TX
