Full Time, Salaried Position. This position territory includes the Blacksburg, Roanoke/Lynchburg and Harrisonburg/Winchester. The majority of this position is work from home but travel will be required for each planned event. Events are strategically planned and evenly spread out accordingly within this territory. Additional staff support will be provided at events. VAMA office hours are 8:30 AM - 5 PM with some evening functions required. Minimal overnight travel required. Travel is scheduled well in advance.

1. Have 1-2 years event planning experience, association management experience, OR have 1-2 years of experience in the property management industry.

2. Have strong multi-tasking, organizational, and time management skills. This position requires planning multiple events at once. You will need to be able to plan ahead and manage your time accordingly.

3. Are familiar with RFPs, BEOs and Vendor Contracts.

4. Are self-motivated and can work independently from home office or remote office.

5. Can adapt to learning new computer programs. (Database software, design programs such as Adobe and Canva, as well as email marketing platforms such as Informz).

6. Can work well with a team and also with the members of the organization.

7. You are comfortable attending meetings and providing reports to committees.

Requirements:

· Excellent problem solving and time management skills.

· Strong networking and customer service skills.

· Strong ability to organize and prioritize work.

· Ability to manage volunteer members to help them succeed in achieving the goals of the organization.

· Proficient with Microsoft office.

· Ability to work from home or remote office.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Plan and execute multiple events per month, which range in size and scope from small sessions to larger events.

· Plan and execute individual event budgets annually. Abide by budgeting requirements to ensure financial success.

· Maintain membership database and online event calendar.

· Responsible for selling sponsorships.

· Responsible for soliciting venues and vendors for all events.

· Work with Director of Marketing in developing marketing strategies for each event.

· Attend local area committee planning meetings with VP of Operations.

· Create and maintain relationships with management companies, apartment communities and vendor partners (in other words, members of the association)

· Will be integral part of membership development and initiatives that come out of committee planning.

Salary and Benefits:

· $35,000.00 - $38,250 annual salary (depending on work experience).

· 15 days of PTO plus 8 holidays. With increase in PTO after 4 years of employment.

· Employee's health, vision, dental insurance monthly premium covered 100% by employer.

· Retirement plan and employer match up to 3%.

· Ability to purchase supplemental insurance through Colonial Life (i.e. Life insurance, disability, dental, accident…etc).

· Mileage reimbursement (over 60 miles round trip) at the IRS tax mileage rate.

· Laptop and cellphone to be provided by employer.
