HopeTree Family Services has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Foster Care Case Worker at our campus in Salem, VA.
Responsibilities Include:
Providing casework services to children placed in treatment foster care homes and their certified foster families.
Conducting home studies
Completing monitoring visits and contacts in the foster home
Providing training, support and guidance to certified foster parents
Preparing and maintaining foster home records in accordance with licensure standards
Requirements:
A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in social work or a field related to social work such as sociology, psychology, special education or counseling
Candidate must demonstrate the emotional maturity and ability to deal effectively with social, psychological and emotional problems of children in foster home settings
Must demonstrate the leadership, knowledge, skills and abilities to carry out program goals and objectives
Knowledge of family systems, community resources, adolescent behaviors and mental health issues
Must possess necessary skills and abilities to make appropriate independent decisions and work in a team environment
Good oral and written communication skills
Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license, and hold an acceptable driving record
Must have the ability to represent the Agency in a positive manner
Hours may vary depending on the needs of foster families and children placed in the home
