The Rescue Mission is now accepting applications for the Full-time position of Development Associate.

This position is knowledgeable of all Rescue Mission programs and events and is a representative of the Mission to cultivate church, business and community relationships. The Development Associate works as a part of the Development Team to develop and cultivate the business community relationships with the Mission and maintains the development records for the Rescue Mission. The Development Associate reports to the Director of Development.

This position is guided by the Mission Statement (helping hurting people in Jesus’ name) and policies of the Rescue Mission.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s Degree is preferredAptitude for and experience with various social mediaProficiency in Microsoft OfficeAttention to detail, accuracy and timelinessUnderstanding of volunteer engagement and ability to utilize and appreciate volunteers in daily tasks.Patient and loving attitudeStrong organizational skillsStrong oral and written communicationsExhibit strong interpersonal skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAbility to multi-taskExhibit professional attitude and appearanceExemplify creative ways to accomplish goalsAbility to create a case for the Rescue Mission to gain awareness and supportFlexibility in schedule to work evenings and weekends as needed.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Development Duties:

Attend department meetings.Lead tours as needed, represent the mission at outside functions.Keep project time lines for various events/tasks and assist department to maintain focus.Speak to groups as needed.Assist in coordinating and facilitating events as requested (i.e. Back to School Blast, Happy Coatsgiving, special events)Maintain files for special events.Maintain books for monthly Thank You Letters, Recovery Graduation Letters etc.Serve as liaison to churches; weekly visits to churches to meet with pastors, secretaries, and or missions committee chairpersons to encourage tours, volunteering and financial support of the Rescue Mission.Small Business Development; call on small businesses to cultivate Mission-friendly relationships and encourage tours, volunteering, and financial support.Assist Drumstick Dash Race Director, to include but not limited to: solicit and confirm sponsorships; obtain logoscoordinate musicians for race day, deliver promotional material to schools, businesses and churches.

2. Administrative Support Duties:

Attends monthly meetings, documenting minutes.Attends break-out committee meetings and provides administrative support if requested.Maintains official documentation of minutes, agendas, etc.Maintains attendance records of board members.Maintains the Board Book.Coordinates MOUs for various functions.Development of Rescue Mission forms, internal signage, etc.Oversees requests for and receipt of free offerings for Rescue Mission staff and guests.

3. Volunteer Engagement:

Volunteer Engagement is a strategy that builds the capacity of the Rescue Mission through employee and volunteer partnership. It is built on the development and implementation of high-impact, meaningful volunteer opportunities that create positive outcomes for the organization and the volunteer.
