HopeTree Family Services has immediate openings for Full-Time Residential Behavior Specialist IIs at our Salem, VA campus serving at-risk youth and teens ages 11-17 in a therapeutic residential setting.
The Residential Behavior Specialist will have direct responsibility for guidance and supervision of at-risk youth and teens in a therapeutic residential setting. The specialist will provide social, behavioral, vocational and academic opportunities for learning. Facilitate the day-to-day schedules, groups, discipline and progress of youth. Responsible for overseeing physical care of youth, development of acceptable habits and attitudes and managing behaviors. Assisting in meeting the goals and objectives required of individual service plans. The specialist is also responsible for the transportation of residents.
A Bachelors degree in Human Services is preferred. Must have strong communication and computer skills, ability to function as part of a team, and must have demonstrated, through previous life and work experiences, an ability to maintain a stable environment and to provide guidance to children in the age range for which they will be responsible. Must have knowledge of adolescent behaviors and appropriate boundaries with clients. Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record. Must have the ability to represent HopeTree Family Services in a positive manner within the community
