Title: Programmer/Developer
Position Overview:
Full time position, paid hourly, 8am-5pm, M-F.
Reports directly to IT Manager
Must be local to Roanoke, VA.
Duties:
Develops new & modifies existing reports to support various departments needs.
Develops new & modifies existing programs to support various departments needs.
Supports users who experience issues with usage of company systems & services.
Document database tables, relationships, & assist in synchronization & design.
Develops emerging technologies including but not limited to: web-based applications, corporate intranet,
external websites, mobile applications.
Performs system administration of AS400 / other systems as outlined by management.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
2+ years in AS400 basic system administration, RPG programming, & AS400 end-user support REQUIRED.
Requires strong programming skills with languages such as RPG, Java, etc.
Requires experience with databases in relation to programming and/or creating reports, including AS400, SQL
Server.
Experience in the transportation industry positive: TMW/Innovative, TMT, and/or other TMS systems.
Requires strong verbal, reading, writing, mathematical, & analytical skills.
Environment:
This position operates in a corporate office environment.
This role will routinely use desktop computers, phones, photocopiers, etc as needed.
This position will work closely with others in IT dept to reach company goals.
You must possess the following skill in order to be considered.
Knowledge of the AS400, RPG Programming Language and other Languages such as Java, and PHP.
