- Build, configure, monitor, and maintain physical servers to host a virtual server environment
- Build, configure, monitor, and maintain storage for virtual servers
- Provide tier 2 and 3 supports for escalations from Help Desk
- Knowledge and experience troubleshooting VMWare based systems
- Participate in on-call rotations
- Must be able to support infrequent after hours and weekend escalations as needed (aside from on-call rotation)
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization as well as perform system capacity analysis and planning
- Manage and monitor the performance, utilization of the various server resources, support the analysis as well as correction of all end-user issues that may be related to the virtualization environment.
- Provide support to resolve incident, problem, or service requests that require subject matter expertise and cannot be resolved by the EOC. Task Personnel shall provide final problem resolution.
- Contribute to the Root Cause Analysis efforts when applicable.
- Provide remote support for OS and standard software build installation activities as required to meet SLAs.
- Perform system or component configuration changes necessary to support Server Virtualization products.
- Deploy security patches and new software release across the VMware environment and supporting products infrastructure.
- 3-10 years of experience overall and a B.S. degree. Bachelor of Science (BS) can be substituted with an additional 4 years of related experience.
- 3+ years of experience related to server hardware administration, particularly Dell PowerEdge and Cisco UCS servers.
- 2+ years of experience administering VMware vCenter and ESXi 6.5 and higher.
- 2+ years of experience working with Active Directory and LDAP.
- 2+ years of Operating system administration (Windows and/or Linux).
- Basic networking knowledge & skills.
- Must be proficient the use of the Microsoft Office productivity suite.
- Must be able to obtain a CBP Public Trust
